Trimble Services recently returned to Mexico High School to assist Airside Technology Co. with a HVAC installation in Mexico, NY, supporting the removal and installation of three new sectional air handling units. While the project required careful planning and precision lifting, it also carried special meaning for our team. The founders of Trimble Services and many of the employees working on-site are proud alumni of Mexico High School, making this project a true return to our roots.

The project involved assisting with the replacement of three sectional air handling units serving Mexico High School as part of an important HVAC system upgrade.
To complete the installation, C&S Companies designed and coordinated the creation of two roof hatches, allowing the existing air handling units to be safely removed and the new sectional units to be rigged into the building.
Airside Technologies Co. completed the demolition and removal of the existing air handling units, while Trimble Services provided crane dump hoppers to safely remove the equipment from the roof and into designated dumpsters for disposal.
During the installation phase, Trimble Services and Airside Technologies worked as a composite team to install the three new sectional air handling units. Using Trimble Services’ Tadano ATF 220G-5 all-terrain crane, the team carefully lifted each section too the roof hatches and into the attic of the historic school building.
Installing sectional HVAC equipment in the attic of the school presented unique logistical challenges, requiring detailed lift planning, precise crane operations, and close coordination between both crews to safely position each unit in its final location.
Returning Home to Mexico, NY
While Trimble Services is proud to support commercial construction projects throughout New York, this project carried a unique sense of pride.
Company founders Barry Trimble, Josh Trimble and Dustin Trimble, all graduated from Mexico High School. Standing on campus years later as contractors helping improve the school’s infrastructure was a full-circle moment—one few people could have imagined while walking those same hallways as students.
Adding to the significance, many members of the Trimble Services crew working on the project are also Mexico High School alumni, making this a true hometown effort. Returning to a place that helped shape so many careers served as a reminder of how meaningful it is to invest back into the communities that invest in us.
Installing Three New Air Handling Units
Replacing sectional air handling units requires far more than simply setting equipment in place. Careful lift planning, precise crane operations, and constant communication between crews are essential to safely remove aging equipment and install new systems without disrupting the overall construction schedule.
By working alongside the project team, Trimble Services provided the crane and rigging expertise needed to safely complete each phase of the installation while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
